Academy of Art University's School of Game Development is currently hiring Part-Time Instructors to teach 3D Modeling, on-site at our innovative San Francisco campus, for the Spring 2024 semester starting in February 2024. As a Part-Time game instructor, you will:
- Teach in your given specialty on campus (180 New Montgomery, San Francisco).
- Clearly communicate existing course material each week while motivating and inspiring students to deliver their best work.
- Grade student work and provide timely feedback on weekly assignments, midterms, finals, and long-term projects.
- Provide mentoring opportunities through student advising during interactions with class instruction.
- Support curriculum as needed by suggesting any edits to keep coursework up-to-date according to industry standards.
Requirements for All Specialities:
- At least 3 years of professional game industry experience.
- 1 or more shipped projects / development cycles.
- Excellent verbal, written, problem solving, professional and interpersonal skills.
3D Art Skills: Onsite Open
- Experience using Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter and/or Designer, Photoshop, Unreal Engine and/or Unity to create props, environments, and/or characters.
- Proficiency in the game asset pipeline (modeling/digital sculpting, retopology, UV mapping, map baking, PBR surface development, staging and lighting in a game engine)
- A strong eye for form, silhouette, anatomy, composition, and color.
Compensation: $50.00 to $100.00 per hour for teaching and $18.07 per hour for all other non-teaching work.
