Clairmont Place is a non-profit Retirement Community in Decatur, across from the VA Hospital. We are seeking a professional, reliable, knowledgeable individual to join our housekeeping team on a part-time basis. Hours and days are flexible but you will have a set list of tasks and residents. Being able to engage in a friendly but professional manner with residents is of the utmost importance. This role is part-time and will work 15-20 hours per week. Part-time roles are eligible for PTO.
POSITION: Housekeeper
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Housekeeping Supervisor, Operations Director
STATUS: Non-Exempt / Hourly
SUMMARY:
This position will be responsible for cleaning resident’s condos and common areas, disposing of trash, cleaning floors, dusting, cleaning kitchens, changing beds, and notifying maintenance of any issues. You should be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds or more and have an eye for cleanliness.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED/equivalent
- Must successfully clear a background check and drug screen
- Ability to manage your time efficiently.
- Work well unsupervised.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds or more.
- Handle basic maintenance and cleaning.
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and interact positively with guests.
- Strong Work Ethic
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Keep facilities and common areas clean and maintained.
- Organize resident’s apartments and common areas when necessary.
- Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors.
- Clean restrooms.
- Clean up spills with appropriate equipment.
- Notify managers of necessary repairs.
- Collect and dispose of trash.
- Properly clean upholstered furniture.
- Focuses on solving conflict and not blaming.
- Listens to others without interrupting and keeps emotions under control- Remains open to others' ideas and tries new things
