Summary – The Part-Time Golf Shop Attendant, under the general direction of the Head Golf Professional, is responsible for performing front desk and cashier duties at the Mill Creek MetroParks Golf Course, including the Indoor Player Development Golf Center. It is the responsibility of the Part-Time Golf Shop Attendant to complete all assigned duties, tasks, instructions and/or work orders in a safe, efficient and timely manner. This position is suitable for transitional duty.
- Greet visitors entering Mill Creek Golf Course
- Provide excellent customer service and perform cashier duties including answering calls, booking tee times, and accurately securing money, and merchandise
- Provide customers with relevant information and resources including rules, regulations and program promotions
- Direct golfers to proper tees and/or Indoor Player Development Golf Center bays
- Open and/or secure the Fieldhouse facility as scheduled
- Communicate effectively and professionally with coworkers and visitors
- Record daily reports as directed
- Clean the Fieldhouse and remove daily trash
- Provide intra-department support and assist with coordinating golf activities with other departments
- Keep supervisors informed of essential issues and report disturbance to proper authorities
- Communicate effectively and professionally with coworkers, visitors and renters
- Other duties as assigned
- Must be able to maintain a continuous positive attitude and professional appearance
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Basic reading and math skills, including the ability to operate cash register, count money and make change accurately
- Must possess proficient technological skills and abilities including the operation of standard computer equipment, software, fax/copier and mobile device capabilities
- Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and effectively to a wide variety of audiences in both verbal and written form
- First Aid, CPR and AED certified, or the ability to become certified upon hire
- Ability to complete all tasks assigned in an efficient, timely and professional manner
- Able to read, understand and follow MCMP rules, safety rules and SDS sheets
- Must be able to work a varied schedule including weekdays and weekends, evenings and holidays as scheduled
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Familiarity with the game of golf required
