Salary/Pay Rate:

 

$1,167 per 1 credit with upward adjustment for years of service at Marist College. Pay may vary depending on credits pertaining to online, graduate, music, or lab courses.

 

Job Summary:

 

The Department of Biology within the School of Science invites applications for the position of Part-Time Faculty, Biology for the 2023-2024 academic year. The Department is specifically searching for qualified individuals to teach General Biology I, a course that covers the scientific method, the chemical and cellular basis of life, energy transformation, DNA structure and replication, protein synthesis, cell division, and General Biology II - a course that covers the scientific method, transmission genetics, basic evolutionary theory, and ecological relationships. This class requires instructors to teach and in-person one lecture section (two 75-minute meetings per week) and one associated lab section (one 165-minute meeting per week). The successful candidate will join a department characterized by a strong sense of community in which students are the central focus and faculty who are both accessible and approachable.

 

The Department of Biology is seeking candidates to teach one General Biology II class which has a lecture meeting TR 03:30 pm-04:45 pm and a lab meeting M 02:00 pm-04:45 pm and a second section of the same course which has a lecture meeting MR 12:30 pm-01:45 pm and a lab meeting TR 03:30 pm-06:15 pm.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Minimum qualifications include an M.A. or M.S. in Biology or closely related field, strong interest in undergraduate education, a commitment to excellence and innovation in teaching, and interest in working collaboratively with others.

 

Essential Functions:

 

The Part-Time Faculty, Biology will teach General Biology II or Topics in Biology.
