Part-time Faculty - Associate Degree, Nursing

A baccalaureate degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution of higher education. Candidates with a master’s degree in Nursing will be given preference. Current active unrestricted licensure as a registered nurse in Ohio. Experience of a least two years in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse. Recent clinical experience required. Requires current certification of Basic Life Support. Requires successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
Ability to communicate effectively and maintain positive working relationships with students, peers, supervisors, and staff.
Willingness to teach and communicate using a variety of instructional modes, email and online learning management systems.
Commitment to meeting students’ learning needs and empowering students in their learning endeavors.
Personal and educational philosophy compatible with the mission, values, goals, and objectives of Central Ohio Technical College.
Requires successful completion of a background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous teaching experience and experience with curriculum development and assessment.

The part-time faculty member is responsible for providing professional, quality work as a teaching faculty member. Work includes facilitating student learning by conducting and teaching technical education courses at the undergraduate level, using active learning methods and a variety of instructional strategies designed to assist the learner in meeting the objectives of the course; assessing student learning; and providing academic assistance to students as needed. In the Nursing Department, part-time faculty are utilized primarily in the clinical setting.
