Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 Per Hour
The Town of Scarborough is hiring for a part-time opportunity with the Community Services team. The Bus Driver(s) will support the Town's 55+ and Child Care programs. The successful candidate will operate a bus or Town vehicle and assist Community Services Staff with logistics and requirements for activities, trips, and events offered.
Position Requirements: Operate a bus or Town vehicle in a safe and courteous manner, maintain a clean and safe vehicle, and maintain punctual travel schedules. Interact with program participants in a positive, caring, and but firm manner. Assist individuals with limited mobility and safely operate the ADA compliant lift. Take program attendance, reconcile activity rosters, collect fees, and assist with preparations and logistics of program execution. Aide program participants, make announcements, and facilitate transitions between segments of programs. This position requires a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with an excellent driving record or a signed agreement to obtain a State of Maine Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six months from date of hire. Some knowledge of maintenance and preventive maintenance as it relates to busses or vehicles is required.
Applicants will be required to undergo testing for alcohol and controlled substances prior to employment. Applicants will be subject to further testing throughout their period of employment. The starting hourly rate for this position is $18.00 - $22.00. Successful applicants must be available days and occasional evenings and weekends.
