Form of workThe Osher School of Music at the University of Southern Maine invites applications for Part-Time Artist Faculty in Jazz Trumpet for our Spring 2024 semester.
The successful candidate will teach applied Jazz Trumpet lessons, preside over juries, and assist in maintaining and expanding an outstanding brass program. Additional opportunities coaching combos, teaching jazz improvisation, are available. Additional teaching assignments may be possible depending on the needs of the Osher School of Music and the expertise of the candidate. In addition, this position will coordinate with the Director of Jazz Studies and Director of the Osher School of Music. Performing opportunities through the faculty concert series and other collaborations are available for additional compensation.
Part-time faculty members are paid on a credit-hour basis based on prior teaching experience. In addition, USM employees can use their USM Card to access the library, Cigna Employee Assistance Plan, and fitness center(s). USM also offers part-time faculty the opportunity for development frequently through our Center for Collaboration and Development (CCD) and the chance to get an online teaching certification and training through CTEL, in addition to other developmental opportunities open to all staff throughout the year.

- Bachelor's degree in Music; Master's degree is preferred but not required.
- Outstanding qualifications as a performer and teacher.
