Part-Time Afternoon Child Care Assistant

This position is for part-time afternoons Monday-Friday typically from about 12-4:30pm. Experience preferred but not required.

We are looking for an assistant childcare worker that is energetic, responsible, friendly and caring, to help encourage the healthy intellectual and psychological growth of the children at our early learning childcare center! This person will help out with any duties within the center where additional assistance in needed and assist the classroom teachers with teaching and supervising the children according to the classroom daily schedule and lesson plan.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED. If not 18 yet or not yet graduated High School, applicant must be able to prove an active enrollment in High School with planned completion date, before first day of work.

Upon hiring, all staff must provide a copy of HS Diploma/GED (or proof of current enrollment for current high school students), submit to a Fingerprint supported FBI Criminal Background check, child abuse/neglect check, and complete a TB skin test. Employees may also be subject to random drug screenings.

• Pay starting at $10.00 per hour.

• New hires will be subject to a 90 day probationary period.
• Closed on all weekends and 10 major holidays.
• Hours of operation: Mon-Fri 5:00 am - 4:30 pm.
• Good attendance is a MUST.

Employees are required to do their job in compliance with KY State Laws, licensing laws, and in the best interest of children. This includes cleaning classrooms, bathrooms, etc.; caring for children properly, educate the children, and be friendly/work together with parents and coworkers. Employees will supervise children to ensure health, safety, education, and emotional and social well-being is upheld. You must follow the daily schedule and lesson plans appropriate for each age group. Must ensure that classroom is maintained and organized, also ensure toys, equipment, furniture is in good repair and cleaned daily. Employees must be willing and able to change diapers and keep the children clean at all times/as needed.

Must be flexible in your schedule and have reliable transportation. There are no light duty positions offered. Must be able to lift small children and typical cleaning daily. Must be able to handle stressful situations productively. Must be able to get down and have fun with the children, act silly, and educate them in ways that are developmentally appropriate for the specific age group.
