Job Duties:
- Crisis Support: Provide compassionate crisis line coverage and peer counseling during Overnight Shifts and holidays.
Conduct intake assessments for clients during these crucial times.
- Client Care: Distribute essential supplies and ensure residents have access to necessary medications.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client services on activity logs. Facilitate effective communication by sharing relevant information with colleagues during shift changes through verbal updates and written notes.
- Security Measures: Ensure the activation of the security system at designated times.
- Effective Communication: Notify on-call staff promptly of any crisis calls or emergency situations.
Collaborate with on-call staff to inform the executive director of shelter/resident crises or emergencies.
- Donations and Supplies Management: Record and document donations accurately using proper forms in the donation book.
Collaborate with the shelter manager by providing a list of needed supplies or food items.
- Team Collaboration: Attend and actively participate in scheduled staff meetings.
Engage in training opportunities provided by the shelter to enhance professional growth.
- Flexibility and Positive Attitude: Provide coverage for day shifts, holidays, nights, or evenings as needed.
Maintain a positive attitude when interacting with clients, volunteers, board members, or other staff members.
Additional Responsibilities: Undertake any other duties assigned by the executive director to contribute to the overall success of our mission.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) Preferred.
- High school education or equivalent.
- Demonstrates sensitivity and ability to respond constructively to individuals in crisis.
- Strong planning skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
