Part Time 7Th Grade Math Teacher

Milton Gottesman Jewish Day School is searching for a part-time 7th Grade Math Teacher for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year. In seventh grade trimesters two and three, students will learn solving algebraic equations and inequalities, proportions and percent of change, and angle properties and straight lines. If there is time, they will also delve into circumference, area, surface area, and volume.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Inspire a love of math in students through teaching.
• Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instruction in a manner that facilitates active, student-centered learning using various teaching methods such as discussions, group activities, and occasional lectures.
• Work with students to encourage and facilitate each individual's growth.
• Collaborate actively with math department colleagues, including on curriculum and course planning.
• Keep attendance records; manage student behavior in the classroom and maintain a positive educational environment for all students.
• Work in an organized, dependable, patient, and creative manner.
Requirements
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree required, preferably with previous experience teaching math at the Upper School level.
• Ability to communicate, motivate, and understand the students' educational and emotional needs.
• Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with other teachers, support staff, parents and members of the community.
Salary commensurate with experience. Exact hours will be discussed.
