Job Title: Lab Lead

Weekly Hours: Full Time

Supervised by: Site Coordinator and Site Manager

Posting: Internal/External   Location: Simpsonville, SC

Position Overview:

Organizes, in partnership with the Site Manager, Site Coordinator, Lab Services Coordinator and external laboratory consultant, the day-to-day operations of the HBR Lab.  Also required to work alongside the team (number of administrative hours will vary).

Responsibilities:

• Provides over the top customer service to patients
• Available to team members regarding general questions and training needs
• Promotes an authentic, transparent work environment
• Serves as on-site point person for the lab, communicating with team on behalf of the leadership team as delegated regarding lab related items.
• Ownership of various additional tasks and projects as assigned
• Ensures maintenance, calibration of equipment and troubleshoots as necessary.  Maintains supplies and equipment needs.
• Ensures that all team members using lab equipment are properly trained.
• Implements lab policies and government regulations and monitors compliance for accreditation and certification.
• Analyzes, recommends, implements and monitors approved work-flow changes procedures and protocols.
• Maintains quality control activities, logs and personnel compliance records (internal personnel records and API testing).
• Submits required DHEC reportable laboratory findings (See DHEC Web site).
• Handles all exposure protocols according to policy.
• Provides the direct day-to-day oversight and direction of the lab support team with help of Clinical Coordinator. Educates team on all practice policies and procedures, etc. Communicates operational issues and ideas with the Lab Services Coordinator and Clinical Coordinator.

Required Education & Certifications:

• 1-year minimum experience working at Tribe. (preferred)
• Must be one of the following: CMA, CCMA, RMA, LPN, or RN

Physical Requirements:  

• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

• Requires sitting, standing, and walking associated with a normal physician office environment. Person may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, infectious diseases, blood/bodily fluids, and disease-bearing specimens.
