Division: Part of the Parks Department staff under the direction of the Superintendent of Parks
Classification: Full-Time Seasonal, Hourly
Job Function: The Pekin Park District is hiring full-time seasonal personnel for the position of General Grounds Maintenance. Responsibilities include mowing and trimming of grass and weeds, maintaining structural facilities, cleaning restrooms, picking up branches and garbage, assist with gardening, irrigation repair and other construction or repair projects, and various other duties associated with park maintenance. Availability to work overtime during the week and weekends as needed is a requirement for this position.
Qualifications:
Skills and Abilities Required:
-Valid Illinois state driver license with a clean driving record
-Work independently and as a team member, as assigned
-Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with personnel, other agencies, and the public
-Understand and exhibit behavior consistent with stated values of the Park District
-Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
-Ability to lift minimum of 60 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday
