Minimum Qualifications There are no education or experience requirements. Applicants must be physically able to perform medium to heavy physical labor. When required to operate motor vehicles, candidates must possess a valid driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated. Applicants must also be able to communicate effectively with other staff and with park patrons.
Duties Description Under the supervision of the Park Manager or their designee, the incumbent will perform or assist with routine grounds work which will include, but is not limited to:• Mowing, trimming and tree maintenance; • Grooming of snowmobile trails, plowing, snow and ice removal; • Perform routine maintenance on a variety of mechanical equipment including mowers, tractors and chainsaws. • Remove trash and other obstructions from buildings and surrounding areas;• Assist in upkeep and maintenance of Refuse and Recycling Centers;• Assist with special event setup;• Process and deliver firewood;• Assist with the risk-tree program;• Perform necessary pesticide control measures on an as needed basis in facility buildings, cabins, picnic areas and campgrounds; and, document those control measures per NYS Department of Environmental Conservation requirements.• Address complaints or inquiries from park patrons;• May supervise a small crew of seasonal staff. • May be required to assist with cleaning or maintenance staff as needed.
