The Riverside County Regional Park and Open-Space District has an opportunity for a Park Maintenance Worker (PMW) who will participate on the Santa Ana River Bottom Team. Check out our brochure here!
Duties include removing trash, dumps, and conducting homeless encampment cleanup; constructing, installing, and repairing of fences and gates (sometimes in remote locations); string trimming, tractor mowing, hand removing invasive, and applying herbicide for weed abatement and habitat restoration (sometimes in remote locations); assisting in installation and long-term maintenance of restoration projects; tractor grading dirt roads; other semi-skilled maintenance work; working with other agencies for Code, OHV, and illegal dumping enforcement; providing assistance in emergency situations; answering public inquiries and complaints concerning reserve operations and maintenance.
Additional responsibilities include carpentry, electrical and plumbing.
The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30PM. Availability on weekends or holidays may be required. A uniform (top and bottom) will be provided.
Highly desired candidates will possess a valid Class A California Driver's license, work experience with a dump trailer, skid steer, loader, or other heavy equipment, and experience with basic vehicle and equipment preventive maintenance techniques, like changing an air filter or basic oil change.
Preferred experience includes using ArcGIS for plotting areas such as encampments, experience with application of pesticides, fence installation and repair, experience using GPS tools. Other desired tool experience includes using rake hedgers, trimmer, chainsaw work, and basic hand tools.
