The Park and Tree Division hires PT Park Attendants for seasonal work, with the opportunity to work 960 hours annually on an as needed basis.
The City of Oakland is currently recruiting to fill multiple PT Park Attendant, vacancies within the Public Works Department. Incumbents perform a variety of landscape and maintenance duties in assigned parks and medians. Incumbents perform routine removal of debris, trim, prune, weed, and plant landscape in city parks and medians. The PT Park Attendant receives general supervision from a Park Supervisor I & Park Supervisor II.
This is an at-will position, exempt from the provisions of the City of Oakland Civil Service Rules, per Charter Section 902. All applications received will be forwarded to the (insert department name) for further consideration.

We are looking for someone who is:
- Safety focused
- Willing to learn new skills and put them into practice
- Handy with a variety of hand and battery operated tools
- Good at establishing working relations with their colleagues
- Positive with a can-do attitude
- Driving and unloading vehicles
- Weeding and planting lawns
- Assisting with pruning, trimming and mowing of parks and medians
- Performing manual labor to excavate and level land with a variety of tools
- Preparing and watering ballfields for events
