Parcel Shipping Clerk

Griffin offers a collaborative work environment, competitive salary, and benefits package including 401k/profit sharing, retirement plan, paid vacation, paid holidays, and more._ *Parcel Shipping Clerk Job Summary: *Verifies, maintains records, and prepares items for shipment via United Parcel Service (UPS), FedEx, and LTL orders. *Essential Duties and Responsibilities: *include the following. Other duties may be assigned by management. * Compares identifying information, counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against packaging labels, invoices, orders, or other records. * Determines best method of shipment. * Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons. * Assembles containers or selects pre-assembled containers. * Selects proper packing material for safely packing parcel packages. * Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage. * Delivers packages to appropriate department. * Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications. * Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies. * Operates pallet jack, cart, or hand truck to move product from shipping and receiving platform to storage area. * Assist with other warehouse duties as needed such as, custodial duties, shipping and receiving, and restocking picking locations. * This position requires regular and reliable attendance and adherence to work schedules; this is an in-office position. *Supervisory Responsibilities:* This position has no supervisory responsibilities. *Qualifications: *To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be able to understand cycle counts. *Education and/or Experience: *High-School Education or GED. Distribution warehousing experience preferred but not necessary. Must possess the ability to learn quickly, work with minimal supervision, and possess the skills required to work in a fast-paced environment. *Language Skills: *Pleasant personality and professional demeanor when interacting with both external and internal personnel. Possess the ability to speak and be understood clearly; must possess the confidence required to interact with all levels within the organization. *Computer Skills: *To perform this job successfully, previous experience working with UPS or other shipping software systems is preferred but not required. *Physical Demands: *The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
