We're on a quest to find an Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic/(EMT-P) extraordinaire to join our client's plasma-powered dream team in the bustling metropolis of Des Moines, Iowa!
The Cornfield Chronicles:

• Schedule: Tuesday-Friday 6am-7pm; Saturday 9am-5pm; Sunday 7am-3pm (Mondays off for superhero recovery)
• Compensation: $24-$27/hour

Your Superhero Utility Belt Should Include:

• Paramedic or EMT-P Certification (shinier than the golden dome of the Iowa State Capitol)
• BLS certification (because knowing how to save lives is kind of important)
• Plasma knowledge (a plus, but we won't ask you to recite its atomic structure)
• Venipuncture skills (a plus) that would impress even the most needle-shy vampire

Responsibilities:

• Assess donor eligibility, including managing informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interviews, acceptance criteria, physical examinations, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
• Evaluate donor reactions according to SOPs at the facility. Adhere to SOPs for medical emergencies, including implementing Center Physician's standing orders and arranging donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• Consult with the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on communicating unacceptable findings to donors, or for medical and technical issues related to donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees when required.
• Manage employee incidents, determining if further evaluation by occupational health/ER is necessary. Follow EHS guidance on handling employee incidents.
• Act as a Pandemic Coordinator under EHS authorization, assisting in investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community as directed by EHS or Medical Affairs.

Pay Details: $24.00 to $27.00 per hour
