Paramedic-in-Charge (911/EMS)
Formed in August 2015, RESQRS (pronounced “Rescuers”) originally provided standby medical services for local sports and events. RESQRS has now expanded those services to non-emergency ambulance discharges, flight team transports, special operations medical standbys, and 911 "First Response'' emergency medical services.
RESQRS provides special operations ambulance standbys and emergency transportation services for air medical flight teams in the Greater Pittsburgh area and surrounding regions. RESQRS seeks highly competent and expertly skilled pre-hospital patient care providers held to the highest degree of accountability and excellence.
Our full-time Paramedic-in-Charge (911/EMS) employees support the advanced life support 911 emergency & non-emergency interfacility ambulance transport service based in Greene Twp, Beaver County, PA.
Greene Twp is a rural community with a low call volume. Qualified applicants MUST be able to work independently from an ambulance in a rural setting. Preferred applicants MUST have a minimum of 3 years experience in emergency scene response as a Paramedic. Non-emergency transport experience does not qualify.
Job Overview:
Workload includes supervision of yourself and any additional crew members on-shift or on-scene. The Paramedic-in-Charge (PIC) is responsible for the daily operational condition of the apparatus, and for the supply and inventory during a shift. Additionally, the PIC is responsible for the accuracy of written records and reports required of the ambulance service, including all company documentation and communications with the ALS Coordinator, Chief of EMS, Medical Director, Director of Operations, Director of Administration, and any joint or interdivisional management that may apply. The PIC is also responsible for supervising and evaluating the performance of subordinates, identifying shortcomings and taking appropriate action to correct deficiencies as well as managing training for all crew under their command.
The Paramedic-in-Charge must be confident in their abilities and capable of providing lifesaving care to patients in a rural setting where the nearest transporting ambulance may have an extended response time. You will be assigned a Paramedic Response Vehicle as your mobile workstation when not at base, and may be requested to provide ALS intercept for priority mutual aid calls in neighboring communities where you will provide patient care in an unfamiliar ambulance operated by an unfamiliar crew. Candidates for this position must display an aptitude for thriving in situations where they are the sole patient care provider.
Job Requirements:
Active command status
5 years of unrestricted driving experience – Required
Valid and non-expired driver’s license
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs individually & 100 lbs with assistance
Have a clean driving record & insurable by company commercial auto carrier
Required Certifications & Clearances:
Valid PA EMT-P certification
PALS certification
CPR (current)
ACLS certification
EVDT/EMSVO
Pass a child abuse history clearance (CWIS)
Pass a physical ability test
Additional Information:

Shift:
12-hour schedule (1900 to 0700)
Kelly schedule (2 on, 2 off; 3 on, 2 off; 2 on, 3 off)
Compensation: $30.25/hour
