Role Summary
Alaska Air Group is seeking a Paralegal to join the Legal team. This individual will provide legal and administrative support to the team for Alaska Air Group (AAG). The role will assist on one or more practice areas, including labor and employment litigation, commercial litigation and regulatory matters and corporate and commercial matters.
Key Duties
- Paralegal (P2) is responsible for assisting attorneys with complex litigation matters, all phases of the discovery process and trial and arbitration preparation for Alaska Air Group (AAG). As an individual contributor, this role supports attorneys and other legal professionals in internal investigations, responding to demand letters and agency charges, general project management and other tasks as assigned.
- Senior Paralegal (P3) is a subject matter expert in assisting attorneys in managing complex legal matters from start to finish, including labor and employment and commercial litigation (e.g., class actions and complex commercial and regulatory disputes) at Alaska Air Group (AAG). As an individual contributor, this role exercises considerable judgement in assisting attorneys with propounding and responding to discovery and motions, draft and issue document preservation notices, conduct complex document searches and fact research, assist in large-scale and time sensitive document productions, and serve as focal point for all e-discovery related activities. This role also Investigates administrative agency charges, conduct interviews and draft responses/position statements with minimal attorney oversight.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Paralegal
- Required
- 2 years of paralegal experience.
- Bachelors degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
- A paralegal certificate from an American Bar Association (ABA)-accredited program.
- Resourceful and capable of working independently, prioritizing work, and demonstrates strong discernment skills in using discretion when working with confidential information.
- Excellent written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, particularly senior leadership.
- Ability to manage ambiguity and adapt to various work styles, risk and change in direction of projects and strategies in high pressure situations that require sound decision making.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook), as well as litigation-related programs (e-discovery, invoicing and billing, matter management).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Sr. Paralegal
- Required
- 4 years of paralegal experience.
- Bachelors degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
- A paralegal certificate from an American Bar Association (ABA)-accredited program.
- Ability to manage ambiguity and adapt to various work styles, risk and change in direction of projects and strategies in high pressure situations that require sound decision making.

Salary Range
$72,600-$121,400 / year
Pay Details
Paralegal: $72,600 - $108,800
Sr. Paralegal: $81,000 - $121,400
Salary Details
Pay will be based on multiple factors,includingand not limited to relevant experience/level, level of the role and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees.
