Paralegal and Risk Coordinator

Job Summary:
The Paralegal and Risk Coordinator reports directly to the General Counsel and is responsible for providing support to multiple business units across the organization. The Paralegal and Coordinator will provide legal and Risk management assistance to the General Counsel and Risk Insurance Management.
Essential Job Functions:
- Analyze, prepare, negotiate, and revise a high volume of contracts including, but not limited to vendor, leases, partnerships, event services, equipment, and IT purchases in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Draft contract amendments, term extensions, overage letters, licenses, and other agreements, provide first review of 3rd party redlines of contracts, and escalate to counsel as appropriate.
- Organize and manage an extensive legal database including tracking expiring agreements and follow-up on renewals with business partners, clients, vendors, and outside counsel.
- Keep track of requests from business partners, progress on finalization, and receipt of completed agreements, with limited day-to-day supervision.
- Provide legal assistance to corporate officers, board members, and other organizational constituents on corporate governance, corporate transactions, regulatory compliance, and litigation/dispute resolution.
- Assist in the timely identification and reporting of claims under the organization's insurance coverage.
- Manage the organizational insurance program by partnering with the organization's insurance broker as it relates to communication, the annual application process, coordination of key stakeholders, and organizing documents.
- Maintain a schedule of insurance program renewals.
- Multi-task within and across projects, and prioritize and manage timelines effectively.
- Assist with department training and presentations.
- Assist in company licenses and business registrations with various states.
- Routine duties are performed with minimal supervision.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Notary Certification or ability to acquire.
- Ability to identify and prioritize workload and to exercise judgment, initiative, and discretion.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and organization skills.
- Working knowledge of litigation and discovery process.
- Working knowledge of general business practices.
- Relevant in-house or law firm experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Work, Excel and PowerPoint) or Google Tools
Experience and Education Qualifications:
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience.
- Paralegal Certificate preferred but not required

Employment Requirements:
- Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record and abuse/neglect.
- Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment.
- All training requirements including Relias Learning at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.
- Valid driver's license in state of residency with an acceptable driving record.
