Job description

Job Title: 1st Shift Roll Clamp Forklift Operator Level II Utility Operator

Monday - Thursday 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Overtime as needed on Fridays) 10-hour shift

Job Summary: This position as a Roll Clamp Forklift Operator has primary responsibilities of operating a forklift equipped with a Roll Clamp attachment to move, load, unload, and stack materials, specifically rolls of paper, textiles, or other cylindrical items. Responsibilities will include ensuring the safety and efficient handling of these materials while adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Roll Clamp Operation:

  • Loading and unloading material for the production line as needed
  • Staging finished product according to product specs and instruction.
  • Safely operating a Roll Clamp Forklift with precision, utilizing the Roll Clamp attachment to handle and transport large rolls of material at the designated area needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of material movements, quantities, and locations to support inventory management.
  • Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance of the forklift and Roll Clamp attachment, reporting any issues or malfunctions.
  • Communicating and collaborating with warehouse or facility personnel to ensure timely and accurate movement of materials.
  • Adhere strictly to safety guidelines, operating procedures, and protocols to prevent accidents or injuries.

Utility Operator Level:

  • Take guidance and instruction from all higher levels of Utility Operators in the learning of new skills and information pertaining to troubleshooting, setup, and quality inspection while allowing them to help assist with setup of production order(s)
  • Verifies the materials needed for production according to order.
  • Packing product in crates or on skids/pallets as product is produced according to specifications.
  • Verifies and keeps records of production rolls, quality, and any other reporting required for production.
  • Manages production floor by assembling and staging tooling and raw materials to maintain production schedule.
  • Assembles wood or cardboard or other packaging as required, to include labeling.
  • Ability to always maintain an organized and safe facility.
  • Ability to operate a forklift when required or as needed.
  • Ability to manage machining projects from start to finish, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Ability to produce a level of skill, experience, and understanding of the machinery being operated at a high level.
  • Ability to ensure efficient production, maintain quality standards, and contribute to process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records of machine operations, and any incidents or issues encountered.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in manufacturing or a related field is a plus.
  • 2+ years of direct Roll Clamp Forklift experience is required with experience moving from 2-9k lbs. of material at a time.
  • Excellent organizational skills and communication skills
  • Familiarity with industry-specific quality standards and regulations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines and safety.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as a team and individually when necessary.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in indoor climate – hot indoors during summer and cold indoors in winter.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
