LINE COOK
The Cafe Hope kitchen cannot operate without the hard work of our Line Cooks. The Line Cook is the team member responsible for the items composed upon the plate that will ultimately end up in front of the customer and play a key role as to whether that customer returns for another positive Cafe Hope experience. Their duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
⦁ Assisting with stocking and setting up kitchen stations.
⦁ Preparing the food items by cleaning, chopping, slicing, etc.
⦁ Cooking and plating food items according to the Kitchen Manager's instruction and guidelines efficiently.
⦁ Maintaining a clean workstation, putting up clean plates that represent the Cafe Hope standard.
⦁ Follow all food safety protocols and regulations.
⦁ Assisting with prep tasks as assigned by the Kitchen Manager.
⦁ Properly store and rotate food items to ensure quality.
⦁ Conduct line checks to ensure quality and freshness.
⦁ Work with other kitchen team members to clean stations and equipment throughout and at the end of each shift.
The Line Cook should:
⦁ Have at least 2 years of culinary education or line cook experience.
⦁ Arrive to work on time, ready to work, following proper dress code, setting an excellent example of punctuality and professionalism.
⦁ Conduct themselves in a respectful manner with all kitchen members.
⦁ Be willing to instruct students patiently, showing them proper methods and techniques to aid their success within the kitchen as well as the Cafe Hope program.
⦁ Be able to work for at least 8 hours on their feet and lift at least 30 lbs.
⦁ Come to work with a positive attitude, ready to achieve the day's goals and overall mission.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $10.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 40 per week
