Painting Technician

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced full-time Painting Technician to join our team and support our data center sites located in The Dalles, OR.

Painting Technician:

The ideal candidate will be experienced in commercial internal and external painting techniques, possess knowledge of materials and safety regulations, and be adept at following instructions for proper surface preparation and application.

Responsibilities:

• Experienced Painting Technician with knowledge of commercial internal/external painting techniques
• On-site preparations such as masking, covering fixtures, etc.
• Preparation of painting material for application; ensuring they meet manufacturers' specifications and regulatory requirements
• Painting surfaces according to instructions with rollers, brushes, and sprayers
• Following OSHA, Federal, & State Regulations related to painting and handling of material
• Apply enamels, epoxies, varnishes, and other types of coatings and finishes per instructions and manufacturers' specifications
• Ensure painting work meets quality standards and specifications
• Perform job site cleanup and proper disposal of materials following client's onsite mechanisms and processes
• Provide other miscellaneous low-risk repairs and maintenance as needed

Qualifications:

• Experience in commercial painting with a strong understanding of internal and external techniques
• Familiarity with OSHA, Federal, and State regulations pertaining to painting and material handling
• Proficient in surface preparation, material handling and application of coatings using various tools and methods
• Ability to follow instructions accurately and maintain high standards of quality and safety
• Capable of working collaboratively with colleagues and contractors to achieve project goals

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 40lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment
• Ability to stand for long periods of time in various work environments
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment related tasks
• Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas quickly
• Ability to move quickly and efficiently withing various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies
• Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectors
• Clear vision, with or without correction, to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safety glasses
• Ability to differentiate between color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables
• Ability to work in environments with a wide variety temperature inside a facility
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow
• Capability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection
• Possession of a valid driver's license for work-related travel, as required
