- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and removing old paint using hand tools and power tools.
- Apply masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be painted, ensuring precision to avoid overspray.
- Mix paint and other materials according to specified formulas and techniques to achieve desired colors and consistencies.
- Fill dents and scratches with body fillers, ensuring a smooth, flawless surface for painting.
- Select and attach the correct spray gun system and settings for the type of paint and finish required.
- Monitor and adjust the environmental conditions in the paint booth to ensure optimal paint application and drying.
- Inspect painted surfaces for runs, sags, and unpainted areas, performing touch-ups and corrective actions as necessary.
- Dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with environmental laws and regulations, including leftover paint, thinner, and solvent.
