The successful Paint Manufacturing Engineering Manager candidate will deploy a variety of skillsets from one or many fields of expertise including Electrical, Controls, Robotics, Mechanical and Process systems, Application, Machining, Hydraulics and Pneumatics, Conveyor and Automation systems, Air Handling and Air Processing systems in service of the Paint Shop. The candidate must be driven to tackle whatever technical challenge presents itself and be willing to assist and learn from others in their areas of expertise.
What You’ll Do
- Work with Design and Program teams to deliver equipment for new program launches and equipment updates
- Drive development and continuous improvement of equipment, paint process and standards within the Paint shop
- Work with Process, Controls and Equipment Engineers as well as other cross functional groups to resolve complex problems
- Analyze downtime data, resolve maintenance issues, improve equipment reliability and review maintenance procedures with the goal of minimizing equipment downtime
- Drive quality concerns and voice of the customer to the paint process and implement changes based on these requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 10-12+ years of experience in a similar role
- Prior work in a managerial role is required
- Knowledge on paint processes and robot programming such as for Dürr equipment is a plus
- Willing to perform shift work (including weekends and nights) and overtime as required
Compensation and Benefits
Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire:
$96,000 - $258,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
