Job Description
We are tech savvy plastic surgery practice and are looking for one qualified candidate to work as our surgical Pre-Operative/PACU nurse. Patients are the lifeblood of our practice and we believe no appointment, patient, or member of our team is more important than one another. We are always striving to be the best we can be. We are seeking a RN with PACU Phase 1 experience who can use critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and has the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
1. General Patient Care- Accompany surgeon in consultations as needed. Documents in the EHR reason for visit, health history, list of medications, allergies, family and social history. Transcribing the physician’s exam findings, assessment and plan into the EHR. Assists surgeon in preparing for examinations and minor procedures.
2. Pre-Operative – Responsible for ensuring that medical clearance is obtained, and all ordered labs and tests are received prior to the patient’s pre-operative appointment. Responsible for reviewing pre-operative instructions and explaining the surgical process to patients who are about to have surgery. In charge of ordering supplies such as implants and garments for patients undergoing surgery.
3. PACU- Responsible for monitoring your patients according to policy (vital signs, temperature, cardiac, etc.). Exhibit proper technique for insertion, maintenance, and removal of IV catheters and saline locks. Demonstrate proper airway management techniques. Check dressings and/or operative sites of your patients and report abnormalities to the surgeon. Provide a safe and comforting environment for your patients and their family. Assist in the operating room circulating role by providing extra support to surgeon and maintaining sterility.
4. Post-Operative- Evaluates post-operative patients healing progress and answer their questions. Capable of performing suture removal, drain removal, and other clinical activities as directed by the physician. Determine if surgeon needs to assess the patient and bridges communication between patient and surgeon.

Time Responsibility- Monday- Thursday
o Clinic on Mondays & Wednesdays from 9-5
o Surgery on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 6:30am-5:00pm (approximately)
Requirements:
- Current Florida Nursing License
- 2-5+ years of PACU Phase 1 experience – preferably in plastic surgery,
- ACLS, BLS
- Belief in the power of cosmetic services to change the lives of appropriate candidates for the better.
- Willingness to utilize existing skills and talent, while simultaneously learning and executing the company’s proven system.

Pay: $75,000-$90,000
