Position Summary:
The position is responsible for efficiently/effectively gathering complex packing materials that are correct to the bill of materials, verify serial numbers, complete necessary paperwork, and operate barcode scanners. Ability to perform Set-Up duties, fill in Lead and be a trainer for all Packing Applications. Visually verifies that parts and or finished products are following SIG SAUER’s quality standards.
- Ability to read a work order and run the auto bag machine, print labels and change oracle program for the label printer. Completion of first article (FA).
- Responsible for training lower-level employees.
- Intermediate Oracle. Pistol, Rifle and MHS open, close, inspection, and change work orders.
- Versatile on all duties within the Packing department and performing other duties across value stream operations and external groups as needed.
- Using the company operating system to generate inquiries, perform movement of material, operation change sheets, Work Instructions, and Visual Aids. Troubleshoot Oracle problems and train in use of oracle operations. Ability to navigate Agile.
- Full understanding of reject codes. Ability to write rejection tags for MRB or repair. Ability to initiate WIP crash protocol. Ability to lead cross functional discussions and problem solving.
- Participate in 5S Workplace organizational activities and maintain the area in good working order through sustainment activities.
- Other duties as required.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Typically requires 3+ years of experience. Must have range access.
- Is able to operate independently at a high level to identify and complete in a timely manner required tasking as dictated by business unit needs.
- Participate on problem solving teams for driving to root cause of internal and external quality failures, particularly related to prevention of customer escapes.
- Participate in 5S Workplace organizational activities and maintain the area in good working order through sustainment activities, including requests for maintenance when needed.
- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to accurately perform basic data entry information when processing packed parts and product.
- Experienced Trainer. Shows leadership ability across operations. Knows Lean Keys and always helping generate improvement.
- Works both independently and in a team environment with internal team as well across operations.
- Works with Leads, Supervisors, AQE's, Engineers ETC. Ability to support multiple levels of operations.
- MEWP, PIT and LP Certifications
- English reading and writing skills, with the ability to follow written directions.
- Proficient in basic math.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Regularly perform repetitive tasks.
- Work is primarily standing (90 + % of the shift) with the exception of lunch and break periods.
- Shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours.
- Standing, sitting, stooping/squatting, walking and stair climbing can be expected along with frequent lifting and/or moving of tooling, parts, containers and materials up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms, bend and kneel frequently at a minimum 50% of the shift, as well as undergo repetitive wrist, hand, elbow, shoulder, and ankle motions.
- Must demonstrate proficient fine motor skills, ability to grip, reach, pull, turn, and use tools in the packing of assembled product.
- Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral and depth perception and ability to focus on fine print.
- Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
