Job description

Summary/Objective
This position is accountable to ensure finished product meets quality and safety standards. The operator also ensures continuous flow of product and monitor for proper positioning, spacing, sealing, and correct codes/labels

Essential Functions

1. Maintain an acceptable standard of output and quality from the filler machine move jar to check weights

2. Operate filler, check weigher, weigh-ups scale; for verification of correct fill weight.

3. Put scoop and cap on jar

4. Use heat gun to put shrink neck bans on jar

5. Place completed jars in box

6. Place full boxes on pallet and stack as boxes get full

7. Shrink wrap full pallets

8. Operate, set up, and tear down assigned equipment.

9. Observe and report any major equipment issues to Small Pack team leader

10. Maintain inventory controls through proper documentation on all paperwork and inventory stock.

11. Maintain a clean working area by performing a general sanitation of all packaging equipment to keep the work area pathogen free

12. Complete all required documentation, record keeping, and reporting as required.

13. Responsible for reporting any Food Safety issues to authorized personnel for correction.

14. Drive Forklift

15. Locating and maintaining location accuracy of production supplies.

16. Providing Initial stock of production materials to complete active P.O.

17. Pulling of materials during run as needed to keep line stocked.

18. Returning unused materials to assigned locations after running P.O.

19. Keeping and returning warehouse locations clean and organized.

20. Initial P.O. Supply locations, carding, and making a copy of the Production Order for continued use and reference during run and after.

21. Correcting and resolving location discrepancies between card and physical location. (update card)

22. Once located, pull materials (jars, scoops, caps, boxes) to fulfill order quantity.

23. Reorder row or pull additional supplies that exceed production areas capacity to the front for later removal.

24. If available stage materials near production staging areas.

25. Unfinished partials need to be labeled and returned to assigned location.

26. Small quantity partials, boxes of 3 or less in scoops or caps, can be relocated to rack 7. Update card appropriately

27. Cover jars, wrap cardboard, tape partial boxes shut before returning.

28. Upstacking, reorienting stacks on pallets and keeping things upright and neat in appearance is preferred.

29. Leaving empty space from used supplies after a run is necessary for incoming supplies to have a home. Be mindful to not use space because it is there.

30. Sweep rows when they need it. Pallet pieces, dust, and other debris build up.

31. If in doubt of the stability of a stack err on the side of caution. Stack to your abilities and don’t be afraid to ask for help.

Work Environment
Performing the duties of this job include: contact with dry dairy products, exposure to airborne particles. There can be exposure to potentially toxic substance and unpleasant odors. This role routinely uses standard warehouse equipment such as forklifts, hand trucks, and knives.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Involves standing, walking, sitting, bending, and lifting 55 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Schedule

Monday through Thursday from 5:00 pm to 5:00 am

Pay: From $17.45 per hour
