Description
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for operating, cleaning and maintaining multiple pieces of manufacturing equipment. This may include material
handling to the production line, set-up, changeover, operation and troubleshooting of all retail packaging equipment (Spiral
through Final Case palletizing. Removes damaged products or supplies, as needed. Position responsible for production,
package, and product changeovers. Maintains required product inspection processes. Performs basic troubleshooting and
minor repairs to ensure production equipment runs efficiently. This includes like-for-like parts changes, belt removal and
installation, following maintenance and troubleshooting guides for equipment and lubrication of equipment per OEM
recommendations. Position requires lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly over a
long work period. This position requires walking or standing most of the time during the shift and may include stooping,
crawling and crouching over and under conveyors. Position will be required to work weekends, different shifts and/or holidays
as determined by business needs.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
•Meets all requirements of a PMO Level II
* Operate and monitor production line(s) to ensure efficiency
•Remove or shift materials and/or finished products to facilitate proper flow
•Ensure package and product quality
•Perform preventative maintenance, clear jams as well as set up for new production runs
•Operate all manufacturing equipment (including new technologies) efficiently and safely
•Clean equipment and area before, during, and after shift
•Maintain clean work area through good housekeeping practices
•Perform cleaning, inspection and lubrication of equipment
•Keep daily records of down time and machine operations
•Work well with others in a team-oriented atmosphere.
•Will be responsible for training other packaging Machine Operators or cross train other PMOMs
•Regular, reliable, predictable attendance
•Ability to understand and perform equipment changeovers in a timely manner
•Be able to quickly learn and explain the operating principals for assigned equipment
•Understand and perform manufacturer related sanitation and assembly tasks on equipment
•Be able to perform basic technical functions such as removing belts for cleaning and changing out basic damaged
components
•Be able to notify and explain to maintenance when the assigned equipment is not running to center line
•Assist in the development of a lubrication schedule for the assigned equipment, and execute the schedule
•Gain a subject matter expert level of understanding of the operational principles of the assigned equipment
•Adhere to safe working practices at all times
•Follow the company GMP's
•Any other tasks deemed reasonable and reasonably requested by management
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
•Must possess a degree of technical understanding of mechanical equipment
•Able to work 12 Hour Shifts/ 6 Days a week.
•Flexibility to work 7 days a week when needed
•Ability to work all scheduled shifts, on time
•Excellent interpersonal skills needed for working in a team environment
•Proven track record in safe working practices
•Manufacturing experience preferred (preferably in the food industry)
•Experience working in temperature controlled settings
•Experience with perishable items
•Experience with Kettle Cuisine ingredients and soups (preferred)
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
•Able to interact and communicate with Maintenance, Management and production team members
•Ability to lift 50 lbs
•Passion for food and high quality
•Excellent attention to detail
•Numeracy skills
