Packer/Mechanical Assembler

Position Summary – The Packer / Mechanical Assembler is responsible for boxing all outgoing shipments. In addition, the packer will be trained to do Mechanical Assembly, including but not limited to cleaning of, marking of & assembly of flowmeters.

Position Reports To: Mechanical Assembly Supervisor

Duties and Responsibilities

Packing Responsibilities:

· Pack all out-going shipments.

· Maintain supplies needed to pack (paper, tape, boxes, bubbles, etc.) and submit orders to Purchasing Manager as needed.

· Prepare the weeks shipments-including necessary labels, pallets, customer cases/crates, special packing instructions, etc.

· Labels: Using the 2 P-Touch label makers on packing desk, make labels needed for paper tags, Crawford labels, Omega and Baker Hughes Barcode labels and any other labels required by the customer.

· Laser Machine: Etch housings, stainless steel tags and Ace plates. Build new files as necessary. Maintain Daily/Monthly/Yearly maintenance of the laser machine.

Mechanical Assembly Responsibilities:

· Cleaning, Marking (laser etching and Electro etching) and assembly of meters.

· Perform necessary duties when filling in for Mechanical Assembly Supervisor.

· Other duties as needed

Authority Level - Reject any nonconforming items (Incorrect information, incorrect product or any damaged items) and notify Production Manager.

Qualifications

· Successful completion of High School Graduation or GED

· Knowledge and experience in using precision instruments to measure parts

· Knowledge and experience reading detailed drawings

· Basic computer knowledge

· Physically capable of some lifting, walking and standing

· Operate a forklift as needed

· Solid written and verbal communication skills

· Capability to effectively work in a team-oriented work environment

· High standards of excellence, high integrity and work ethnic

Working Conditions - Climate controlled building

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
