Job description

This shift will be Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm.

We are a high-quality medical cannabis manufacturer seeking motivated and accountable team players to join our production team!

Packaging Machine Operator

This position is primarily responsible for repairing precision parts using both your own manufacturing knowledge and working with off-site technicians. Additionally, this position will ensure effective machine operations and optimized production, while also maintaining various logs ie. production, inventory, cleaning and quality assurance checks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintain cleanliness of the Packaging machine and surrounding work areas in compliance with facility cleaning procedures
  • Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job
  • Repair any operational issues
  • Determine and program size of batches and speed of machine based on the daily pre-packing schedule
  • Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed and identify issues
  • Monitor Packaging Associates to ensure they are keeping up with QC/ labeling. Assist them as needed
  • Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs
  • Manages continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Pass a Federal and State criminal history background check
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification required
  • Must be comfortable with using power-operated machine tools
  • Thorough knowledge of many kinds of machine tools
  • Comfortable using technology/computers to operate machine
  • Work as a member of a team
  • Be able to pivot to other tasks quickly
  • Must be attentive to detail to locate any problems in the production process and check the accuracy of the finished product (QC weight)
  • Ability to learn new techniques and take direction well
  • Must be accurate with their work
  • Ability to make adjustments to the machine

  • This position requires an inordinate amount of sitting, walking, bending, and reaching
  • Must be capable of standing for extended periods of time, lift objects on a regular basis, and perform daily repetitive tasks
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. repeatedly
  • Must be able to lift 10lbs over head
  • Must be comfortable working around high-speed machinery
  • Comfortable with heights (12 feet)
  • You will be exposed to loud noises and strong odors
  • To prevent the spread of COVID-19, accidents or other injury, machinists wear protective gear, such as masks, hairnet and gloves, as well as follow safety regulations
  • Must be comfortable working with their hands and must be extremely accurate
  • Part of the job will include maintenance and working with technicians in person and via skype
