We are looking to hire an Industrial Engineer to develop the new role of Packaging Engineer at our E-commerce fulfillment distribution center located in Oklahoma City. With over 70,000 unique items, featuring home décor, furniture, floral, art and craft supplies, yarn and fabric, the Engineer will learn industry-best packaging methods and apply these into our operation through automating systems and standardizing packing procedures.
Description
This role includes applying engineering techniques and Lean Six Sigma principles, such as time studies, process evaluation, flowcharts, data analysis, modelling of systems & testing, and process design to create improvement plans and standard operating procedure (SOP) documents.
The candidate for this role must be driven, organized, work well with teams, have open and clear communication, pay attention to detail, seek consistent improvement and must be graduating with or have an Industrial and Systems Engineering degree. Schedule will be Monday thru Friday, 8am – 5:00pm.
Responsibilities

• Collect data on current productivity metrics, including time studies and key performance indicators (KPI’s) for packing processes
• Identify bottlenecks in the operation and implement process plans that will reduce labor and material cost
• Conduct systematic analysis and testing of packaging materials and implement cost-effective packaging strategies while maintaining product integrity and quality
• Stay updated with the latest packaging trends and technologies and provide recommendations for enhancing our packaging capabilities
• Monitor productivity in all packing areas, as well as errors and damages
• Work on projects with supervisors and team leads to make process improvements aimed at reducing damage rate and eliminating waste
• Standardize packing procedures by composing standard operating procedure (SOP) documents

• Industrial and Systems Engineering Degree
