Cambridge Eating Disorder Center: At our organization Overnight Residential Counselors are valued members of a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to helping adolescents and women rebuild their lives. We are hiring Overnight Residential Counselors . Full-time Overnight Residential Counselors are required to work four 10-hour shifts. Once eligible, Full Time Overnight Residential Counselors receive a percentage of their health premium and 100% dental premium paid, if subscribed. They also receive paid time off and there is overtime availability.

TITLE: Overnight Residential Counselor
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for ensuring a safe environment for patients during the overnight hours by checking their sleep status and notifying appropriate parties with issues and concerns about specific patients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Possess a clear understanding of emergency procedures, including how to quickly access emergency contact information for each patient.
· Check on assigned patients during 15- or 30-minute increments as indicated by treatment team. Conduct and document risk assessment for patients expressing suicidal ideation or an impulse to self-harm.
· Be aware of the alarm in the staff offices
· Remain cognizant of the security camera feed.
· Promptly communicate with patient’s treatment team, (e.g., psychiatrist, case manager, nutritionist) regarding client care issues and concerns.
· Carefully and thoroughly document all clinically relevant information regarding patient behavior in a timely manner.
· Update office whiteboard with patient information relevant across several shifts (e.g., noncompliance, changes in bathroom supervision, safety concerns, etc.)
· Attend the required number of RC Supervision meetings (at least 24 hours a year for full- time employees; at least 12 hours a year for part-time employees—starting from the date of hire).
· Be aware of all documents needed in patients’ charts and be able to communicate with treatment team members if something is missing.
· Use active listening skills to individually process day-to-day issues that patients struggle with (meal/behavior noncompliance on and off the unit, self-doubt, body consciousness).
· Promote appropriately supportive relationships between patients.
· Correctly weigh patients.
· Take, accurately interpret, and document vital signs (i.e., blood pressure, pulse).
· Supervise patients’ self-administration of medication and document appropriately.
· Supervise bathroom and shower use for patients according to each patient’s assigned supervision level. Document and report all clinically relevant information.
· Escort clients to offsite medical appointments and ER visits.
· Understand when and how to contract for safety.
· Conduct thorough contraband searches
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/Associates Degree
- Ability to multi-task
- Team-oriented
- CPR certified within the first three months (certification cost reimbursed)
- Able to tolerate a fast-paced environment with positivity and confidence High School Diploma or Equivalent
· Ability to multi-task and work as a multi-disciplinary team member
· Good written clinical communication skills
· Ability to work independently
· 2 years college
· BA/BS preferred
Language/Communication/Organizational Skills:
· Must demonstrate knowledge of skills necessary for communicating with all ages and diverse cultures.
· Must be able to assess situations, identify issues/problems and prioritize duties.
· Mathematical Skills: Must understand basic accounting practices.
· Reasoning Ability: Uses personal experience, knowledge and other outside resources to make logical decisions to solve problems.
