Live-out overnight Newborn Care Specialist required for a warm and loving Tribeca family with a newborn (expected September 2024). The family is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive individual who can apply their experience of maternal health and normal infant growth and development to provide exemplary emotional and physical support to both baby and parents. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, infant feeding, breastfeeding/bottle support, newborn hygiene, and swaddling/comforting. You must be engaged, have excellent communication skills and be able to support the family with a strong empathetic approach. The parents are looking for someone up to date with all current methods and techniques across all aspects of Newborn Care to help guide, support and educate them with their first child. The ideal candidate is nurturing, positive and looking to join a happy and fun family dynamic. A can do attitude with a team player mentality would be a wonderful match for these parents.
Location: Tribeca, NY. Possibility of overnight support in Bridgehampton, NY.
Start date: September, 2024 for 8-12 weeks depending on availability of ideal candidate
Days/times: Nights: 7pm - 7am (12 hour overnights). 7 nights a week, guaranteed 84 hrs a week.
Children: Newborn (due September 2024)
Conditions: $55 - $65 per hour* dependent on experience and qualifications. The family will happily offer a housing stipend for out of state candidates, as well as a monthly metrocard if required.
For further consideration, applicants must possess the following:
- A minimum of 5 years experience as an NCS, 5-10 years + preferred
- A well-suited demeanor for working with newborns
- Exceptional childcare references that attest to strong communication skills, reliability, punctuality, maturity and high emotional intelligence
- Education (NCS certification) or equivalent knowledge of postpartum recovery and healing
- Strong background in breastfeeding/bottle support and techniques
- Ability to complete all child related duties (including, but not limited to: bottle preparation/sanitation, cleaning up/tidying bedroom and laundry)
- Comfortable with dogs (2 small dogs in home, no direct care/responsibilities)
