New York Cancer and Blood Specialists (NYCBS), a prominent and respected Oncology/Hematology group, is seeking OVERNIGHTLabAssistant to join a well-established and growing pure sub-specialty practice with academic affiliation. Practice manages a freestanding outpatient Cancer Center with extensive chemotherapy administration, Radiation Oncology, Pharmacy and Research department.
In this role you will:
- Operate and maintain centrifuges and processing equipment authorized within the Laboratory Services Department.
- Focus on safety and quality assurance procedures with ability to function within or above regulatory agency requirements.
- Perform multiple tasks such as; accessioning, restocking of laboratory supplies, disposal of biohazard waste, pending logs, scanning records and maintenance of laboratory work flow.
- Interact in a positive manner with supervisors, manager and coworkers.
- Assumes other duties as assigned by management.
- Understanding of all confidentiality and HIPAA provisions.
- Navigate and perform required tasks on Labdaq and Onco EMR.
- Recognize and convey to management any departmental improvements necessary.
We require:
- Must be able to work Overnights.
- High School Diploma at least 1 year of experience in laboratory operations, preferred
- Knowledge of basic laboratory procedures and practices.
- Time management skills.
- Experience with workflow management.
- High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted activities.
- Bi/Lingual, English/Spanish speaking preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; resourceful and organized.
- Proficiency in Word/Excel
Overnight Hours 8PM-4:30AM
Salary up to $22 per hour.
