(Overnight) Assistant Night Crew Chief - Full Time

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Night Crew Chief is responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience by presenting and ensuring the freshest quality product. Assistant Night Crew Chief’s achieve this through assisting the Night Crew Chief with overnight supervision of all functions in the grocery areas including but not limited to; achieving sales/operational results through ordering, inventory management, stocking, leveling, decision making, employee engagement, employee development, and encouraging an inclusive team atmosphere within the department, store and company. Assistant Night Crew Chiefs are additionally responsible for compliance to all laws, company policies and procedures including labor and safety regulations, asset protection and food safety.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The Assistant Night Crew Chief will assist the Night Crew Chief in the following functions as needed:

• Demonstrate the ability to engage others to maximize the customer experience, by creating a personal connection that benefits our customers and communities, with every product, service and solution we provide.
• Foster a positive work environment by encouraging employees to share their voice through open communication, fostering a team atmosphere, resolving disputes and conflicts creating a fair and consistent environment, and encouraging cross development of employees.
• Maintain department conditions and supplies by assisting in oversight and completion of planogram integrity, CAO functions, inventory management, receive, break down load, stock shelves, level department, clean and organize backroom.
• Ability to effectively use all current systems to maximize in stock position and product availability. Make necessary adjustments to minimize shrink and maximize sales, as well as, to meet the changing needs of the department (seasonality, sales trends, etc.).
• Knowledge of general overnight receiving practices (notify operator, door opening log, temperature inspection at time of delivery, securing all perishable items after received, and complete store walk after MIC leaves to ensure 100% security compliance).
• Ability to delegate and direct team members to ensure completion of all department responsibilities.
• Ability to adapt to change through own actions while encouraging other team members through the process.
• Support the Career Planning process by providing development and coaching to team members, and by making recommendations of high potential employees for advancement and growth
• Ability to build professional and productive working relationships at all levels of the company to ensure proper communication, compliance and execution of all Big Y initiatives.

Ability to cover the Night Crew Chief’s responsibilities in their absence to including delegation and directing team members to ensure completion of all department responsibilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $19.70 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
