Outside Sales Representative

Our growing business is in search of hard-charging high energy Outside Sales Representative to increase sales, build relationships and foster long standing partnerships. Reporting to VP of Residential and Light Commercial, the successful candidate will be responsible for establishing contact with existing customers, identifying new opportunities, and following up on potential leads and closing projects for the Residential-Light commercial concrete division. The Outside Sales Rep will also monitor industry trends in order to identify emerging opportunities and develop plans to utilize those opportunities to increase sales revenue. With a focus on custom home concrete foundations, turn-key masonry foundation packages, flat work (driveways, SOG), mono pads, retaining walls/basement walls, restaurant foundations, ribbon slabs for retail, metal building slabs etc., in Charlotte and its surrounding areas. Our customers are reflected in the number of long-term relationships that we have built and continue to strengthen.

 

  • Target light commercial contractors and residential homebuilders to determine existing and future projects to fill sales funnel for our concrete construction division in the greater Charlotte, NC area.
  • Continuous follow-up communication on all bids with a systematic approach to tracking project status.
  • Work closely with VP of Construction to push projects through sales funnel.
  • Spend 50% of your time in the field visiting customers, job sites, and other target opportunities. The rest of your time calling and emailing clients to review project status.
  • Generate sales reports each week and submit them to management for review.
  • Utilize all available resources to reach out to prospects and attempt to turn those prospects into customers.
  • Build relationships through client social events after hours and develop a construction network.
  • Work closely with VP to review weekly sales activities and prospective customer calling activities.

**Minimum Qualifications: **

  • 5+ years of Outside Sales experience with documented success.
  • Strong phone skills and emailing communication.
  • Ability to manage a large amount of data routinely.
  • Excellent interpersonal and superior communication skills.
  • Ability to read, understand and decipher blueprints.
  • Strong computer and research skills.
  • Team Player - self-motivated and comfortable working with minimal direction.
  • Good driving record.

**Preferred Qualifications: **

  • Construction background.
  • 4 Year Degree with strong business background.
  • Funnel management using Cosential or other CRM
  • Bachelor’s Degree in construction management

  • Professional presentation; is confident, assertive and displays a high level of self-esteem.
  • Must be action-oriented, a strong team player and be able to maintain a high energy level even with challenging situations or customers.
  • Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient manner.
  • Good communication skills; can effectively communicate to all levels of management, both internally and externally.
  • Strong active listening skills; gives full attention to what other people and takes the time to understand the points being made, asking questions when appropriate, and letting others fully state their ideas.
  • Grasps concepts quickly and has good follow through skills; Adheres to work schedule and follows through on challenges as they arise; maintains a positive outlook.
  • Can identify the information needed to clarify a situation; seeks information from appropriate sources; can tackle a problem using a logical, sequential approach and can anticipate the implications of actions.
  • Good written and verbal presentation skills including but not limited to computer skills such as Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, and Outlook. Is self-motivated; maintains a feeling of pride in work; has a strong work ethic and strives to achieve all goals; is competitive and has a strong drive to win; takes appropriate risks. Is trustworthy and maintains the highest level of confidentiality at all times.
