Outpatient Infusion/Procedure Nurse

Fall River Health Services is looking for an Outpatient Infusion/ Procedure Nurse to work closely with pharmacy and providers to provide outpatient infusions, wound care, and other procedures in the hospital.

Responsibilities:

Work directly with providers and pharmacy to coordinate and schedule outpatient procedures.

Assist providers with outpatient procedures.

Schedule and manage the outpatient procedures. Enter appointments in advance to ensure insurance verification and pre-registration requirements are complete.

Work closely with prior-authorization specialist to ensure appropriate insurance coverage prior to procedures.

Prepare patient for appointments by screening to determine nature of the visit, obtaining the appropriate documentation needed from the provider, and entering orders and charges.

Audit outpatient charges to ensure accuracy.

Communicate with providers regarding treatments, patient conditions and outcomes as needed.

Administer infusions and provide treatments according to policy.

Organize and integrates wound care for inpatients and outpatients.

Review potential swing bed patient admissions for wound care services.

Track data for outpatient procedure room volume.

Coordinate with purchasing to order supplies as needed.

Document accurately in the electronic medical record, maintain patient privacy and adheres to HIPAA standards.

Serve as the outpatient department super user for electronic health record.

Work closely with team members in emergency situations.

Assist inpatient and ER nurse as necessary.

Assist with developing and reviewing department policies.

Educate other staff on policies and procedures related to outpatient department as needed.

Serve as the chair of the skin and nutrition committee.

Follow safety and infection control policy and procedures.
