About the Role

The Construction Supervisor at Telax Communications is responsible for guiding and monitoring the day-to-day activities of assigned projects, ensuring that safety and quality standards are consistently met. This role emphasizes hands-on supervision of project resources, coordination of project timelines, and fostering strong relationships with both internal teams and external partners. The Construction Supervisor should be adept at supporting field labor tasks and familiar with basic project administrative duties.

What You'll Do

  • Guide and Mentor: Directly supervise the workforce under your purview, ensuring their professional growth through coaching and training.
  • Team Building: Play an active role in the recruitment process, assisting in the selection of new field employees.
  • Budget Oversight: Monitor project expenses to ensure they remain within the allocated budget.
  • Subcontractor Collaboration: Work closely with subcontractors to ensure resource availability and alignment with project needs.
  • Meeting Participation: Engage in both internal and external meetings, ensuring that follow-up tasks align with project goals.
  • Safety and Compliance: Vigilantly ensure all projects adhere to internal safety guidelines, OSHA standards, and other relevant regulations.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee contractor activities, perform quality checks, and ensure projects are completed as per the timeline.
  • Document Interpretation: Understand and work with construction documents and drawings.
  • Field Support: Be available for on-site support, assisting field crews in executing the project efficiently.
  • Data Management: Oversee the construction tracking system, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • Project Supervision: Monitor all projects under your charge, ensuring timely updates and progress tracking.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Handle any other supervisory duties as they arise.


Do You Have The Following?

  • Exceptional technical communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal guidance or direction.
  • Comfortable working in a self-directed work group and adept at communicating effectively with team members.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to analyze problems, prioritize tasks, and lead decision-making processes.
  • Understanding of construction practices and ensuring timely close-out and delivery according to the project schedule.
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial interest and passion for problem-solving, paired with a knack for innovative and creative solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills and effective time management abilities.
  • A minimum of two years of direct or relevant experience.

Physical Demands / Work Environment

  • Capable of standing, kneeling, and crouching for extended periods, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 85 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in an office environment as well as from a truck on a job site.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally and support multiple markets.
