Location: Jefferson City, Missouri

Shift:  24 hours/week. Wednesday - Friday, 7:45am - 4:00pm

Department: CRMC Missouri Orthopaedic Institute - Jefferson City

Salary Range: $16.68 - $26.31/hour - final salary based on experience

 

ABOUT THE JOB

MU Health Care is seeking an enthusiastic Orthopedic Technician to join our dynamic team at the CRMC Missouri Orthopaedic Institute - Jefferson City. JOB DUTIES
Apply and Remove Casts, Splints, custom casts or splints, coordinate care and intervene in response to patient's needs.
Assist with fitting and education of orthopedic bracing, ambulatory aids, and other durable medical equipment.
Document care in patient's medical record.
Maintain inventory of casting supplies and equipment, check expiration dates of supplies, stock and clean clinic and exam rooms as needed.
Provide education regarding casting-related activities to patients and their families, residents, nurses, medical students and new staff.
Assist with other patient care activities as needed/directed by supervisor and/or manager.
May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.

High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired.

Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

 

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs.
This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rotating shifts as well as holiday and work during inclement weather will be required.
