Orthodontic Dental Assistant--Part Time

WHO WE SEEK:

We are in need of a part-time orthodontic assistant to help us with patient care at our startup office. Additionally, strong candidates will also have experience and skills to work in the front office as needed and help with the marketing needs of the office. The position will begin as part-time with 6 clinic days a month and on-call duties to cover emergencies the rest of the time plus . As the practice grows and its schedule becomes busier, this position may then become full-time. The ideal team member will have enough experience in clinical orthodontics to work both independently and under supervision of the orthodontist both in the dental chair as well as in gathering clinical records (facial and intraoral photographs, alginate impressions, intraoral scanning, xray acquisition), performing sterilization duties (ultrasonic, autoclave M11 and Statim), limited lab work as needed (such as model pouring and trimming and Essix fabrication), and organizing clinical supplies.

Experience with front office duties at a dental office will also be a big plus and all candidates will be expected to cross-train in front office duties in case they are needed beyond the clinic. (Patient host/concierge, scheduling, answer phones, check voicemail, check emails, assist office with marketing, social media and outreach, fee and contract presentation, accounts receivable, insurance verification and accounts, patients accounts, billing insurance, collecting payments, entering contracts, receive, store, and deliver shipments and mail.). Additionally, Spanish language skills will further make candidates stand out. Compensation is open to negotiation based on experience and qualifications.

Expected hours: No less than 12 per week

• On call
