Spark Orthodontics has an immediate opening for an Orthodontic Assistant / Treatment Coordinator in our Harrisburg and Camp Hill locations!

Location: You must be able to reliably commute between our Harrisburg and Camp Hill locations.
What You Will Do:
- Chart all patient treatment
- Schedule the next visit
- Assist with Sterilization
- Take x-rays, photographs, scans and impressions
- Prepare teeth and assist Doctor with bonding
- Place and remove separators
- Fit band, bracket, archwire, color tie removal, sizing and placement
- Keep unit drawers stocked,
- Understand Spark policy on working with health benefit plans and be prepared to educate patients on their specific benefits
- Conduct a consultation to understand a patient’s oral health history, objectives, and concerns
- Accurately chart all examination findings on behalf of Doctor
- Work with the Doctor to diagnose and prepare treatment plans. Present treatment fees and discuss financial arrangements with patients
- Contact patients/parents to schedule treatment and/or discuss payment options for Medicaid approvals/denials, private insurance patients, and self-pay patients
- Notify patients of co-payments and co-payment requirements upon scheduling
- Conduct treatment consultations with existing patients when new treatment plans are presented
- Ongoing communication with the patients and responsible parties during and at the conclusion of treatment
- Consistently and effectively follow through with patient scheduling and appointments to ensure appointments are scheduled appropriately and payment agreements are filled out correctly
- Assist clinical team, when available, by cleaning chairs, doing sterilization, seating patients, starting records or braces appointments, etc.
- Manage recall of new patients, consultations, and orthodontic starts
- Maintain appropriate certifications and/or licensures
- Work to build trust with the patient, understanding the patient’s objectives
- Address patient concerns regarding treatment plans and answer any questions
- Assist the patient in prioritizing treatment
- Perform general office duties as required
