Job Summary:
Prepares shipments and all applicable documentation; verifies and keeps records on outgoing shipments and inventory.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Compares identifying product information and counts, weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify against orders or other records.
- Prepares bar code labels and documentation using WMS system.
- Applies identifying information and shipping instructions onto cartons and/or skids of cartons.
- Verify labels match scanned parts.
- Uses WMS computer system for inventory availability and reconciliation.
- Performs inventory counts and reconciliations as required to maintain an accurate inventory.
- Ensures warehouse is kept in efficient order by keeping parts in sequence.
- Meets company’s attendance standards.
When Running the Label Line
- Selecting the correct label on the computer for private label customers, basic computer knowledge a must.
- Off-loads unit boxes from pallets to a belt conveyor for label application.
- Trouble shoot the label line when needed. Able to refill the label and ribbon spools when they run out.
- Performs other business needs as assigned by the Warehouse Manager or Warehouse Lead. The shipper will be crossed trained. (i.e. returns, pick orders, consolidate rack locations, label line, ect.)
Accountabilities:
Accountable for insuring shipments are made accurately and on a timely basis to customers.
Working Conditions:
Warehouse facility, shipping dock. Moderate noise level. Some desk and PC work. Overtime without notice.
Job Requirements
Physical & Mental Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry eighty (80) pounds.
- Capable of standing and bending throughout the defined shift.
- Able to operate a tow motor and forklift safely.
- Moderate decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
- Self-motivated.
- Must have legible handwriting
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Working knowledge of part numbers.
- Previous operation of forklift.
- Working knowledge of inventory process and personal computers.
- Previous operation of forklift preferred.
