Optometry Technician

```Duties```

- Perform preliminary tests and screenings on patients, including measuring visual acuity, depth perception, and color vision

- Assist with diagnostic procedures such as tonometry, visual field testing, and retinal imaging

- Prepare patients for examinations by taking their medical history and documenting any relevant information

- Educate patients on proper contact lens insertion, removal, and care techniques

- Clean and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment

- Provide support to optometrists during procedures and treatments

- Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records

```Requirements```

- Previous experience as an Optometry Technician or in a similar role preferred

- Knowledge of Epic electronic medical record system is a plus

- Familiarity with pediatric optometry is highly desirable

- Strong understanding of ocular anatomy, physiology, and pathology

- Proficiency in conducting visual field tests and measuring intraocular pressure

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain procedures to patients

- Knowledge of retail sales of eyewear is beneficial

- Ability to perform basic vital signs measurements accurately

- Familiarity with aseptic technique when handling ophthalmic instruments

- Understanding of medical terminology related to ophthalmology
