Optometric Technician
Our dynamic, established eyecare practice needs a reliable, conscientious "People person" to assist with pre testing patients (all training provided) while supporting admin team members (answering phones, checking patients in/out, insurance submission, etc.). Job Type: Full-time Weekends required
Clinical Responsibilities
- Take patient medical histories
- Perform preliminary and ancillary testing prior/during exam
- Enter data into electronic medical records
- Assist doctor during examinations
- Contact lens training (insertion & removal)
- Manage contact lens trial inventory
- Monitor patient flow throughout the office
- Establish positive rapport and build relationships with patients
Additional Responsibilities (included but not limited to):
Administrative Responsibilities
- Greeting and directing patients
- Answering telephones
- Updating and maintaining electronic medical records
- Obtaining insurance verification and authorization
- Scheduling appointments
- Processing insurance claim forms
- Patient and insurance billing
Cleaning - Keeping the work environment clean (sweeping, dusting, mopping, bathrooms etc.)
While prior experience in the field is preferred, no experience is necessary to apply. If you have an engaging personality and are a fast and eager learner, we are willing to train.
Education:High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
- Medical Terminology: 1 year (Preferred)
- Work Location: In person
