If you are not already licensed: In 6-12 months you will be a candidate for getting licensed as an Ophthalmic Technician or an ABO/NCLE certified Optician. Along with this comes career advancement and salary increases.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- · Taking Optomap photos (photos of the back of the eye)
- · Visual field testing (side vision)
- · Pentacam including CSP (measures the curve of the eye)
- · Tonometry (eye pressure testing)
- · Taking case history (why the patient is there) and medical history
- · Instructing patients in contact lens usage
This is a part-time position with a Tuesday through Thursday, 8:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. schedule (four-day weekends!)

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
