ViewPointe Vision is a fun, growing, optometry practice looking for an energetic and naturally friendly Optometric Technician. We are seeking someone with a caring nature who truly enjoys working with patients and being part of a positive team!
Pay is flexible and dependent on applicable experience.
Experience: Previous healthcare experience preferred, but willing to train the right person.
Job Description: Optometric Assistant
- Monitor patient schedule and communicate with other staff and doctors
- Pre-testing of patients
- Taking retinal photos, OCT scans, visual fields, keratograph screenings, and auto-refracting
- Disinfect equipment and keep exam and contact lens rooms neat and clean
- Gather patient medical history
- Check visual acuities and set phoroptor up for doctor
- Teach patients on contact lens insertion and removal
- Order & dispense contact lenses (applying insurance benefits as necessary)
- Order pharmaceuticals and exam room supplies
- Credit returns for contact lenses
Secondary responsibilities when needed:
- Answer phones and back-up front desk (i.e. checking patients in and out, scheduling patients, and answering general questions)
- Find and verify insurance benefits
- Assist patients with eyewear purchases
- Dispense eyewear
- Adjust and repair of eyewear
