Job Description
Options Counselors work within our ADRC (Aging and Disability Resources Center). This department provides educational information through community outreach and individual conversations regarding issues that effect the lives of older adults and the physically disabled of all ages. Serving as a single entry point for individuals in need of long term care supports, ADRC provides options counseling to help individuals identify and obtain the supports and services to assist them in meeting their needs.
We exist to help individuals remain independent at home or in a community setting for as long as they desire and it is safe and feasible for them to do so. Our ADRC Options Counselors act as advocates by providing information and referral services enabling clients to make informed decisions based on available options.
This Options Counselor position will work primarily on the phones completing intake and providing support and referral information to callers. Options Counselors use their knowledge of the resources available in the communities to provide information to individuals to help them make informed decisions about their lives.
This position can be done with a combination of in-office and remote work after completing initial 90 days and all initial training. The minimum of 3 days a week in the office is currently required. Ability to continue remote work is based on client needs and employee performance.
This Options Counselor position will in our Columbus office but may provide supports to individuals in all 5 counties in which we work: Bartholomew, Brown, Decatur, Jackson and Jennings.
