Our work depends on an optician joining our team to support the NCMMIS program activities in Raleigh North Carolina.

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a optician supporting the NCMMIS Program, you will be trusted to review and provide expert analysis of PA requests of visual aid services. Request submitted are from providers of services to North Carolina Medicaid beneficiaries. The optician will be responsible for determining the medical necessity of requested services by following the NC Division of Health Benefits Clinical Coverage Policy and by following GDIT contractual administrative services agreements. The GDIT contractual administrative services include representing PA denials in mediations and at Appeal Court Hearings.

• Collaborating with NC Division of Health Benefits to solve North Carolina Medicaid beneficiaries needs
• Review and attend optical appeals and mediations
• Review complex cases within NCTracks
• Respond to second level provider questions
• Your success will be measured through closing out mediations and complex cases appropriately and within defined timelines

• Required Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication and problem solving skills
• Location: Remote with onsite initial training
• US Citizenship Required
