Your Specific Responsibilities:
This is a professional position requiring a team approach in continuing an established dental school-based program in Bradford and Union Counties. Providing diagnoses and treatments including conducting dental examinations, evaluations, screenings; performing periodontal, preventive, restorative, pedodontics, and performs record review and prepares reports as needed. Performs the following duties and responsibilities:
Conducts oral examinations and evaluations and documentation.
Reviews patients' medical history.
Treats infections, oral diseases, injuries, and malformations of the mouth, teeth, and oral cavity.
Makes appropriate referrals to dental specialists and medical providers.
Provides diagnostic and preventative procedures.
Provides supervision of Dentals Assistants and Dental Hygienists in accordance with Florida laws and rules.
Provide treatment to pediatric patients.
Practices infection control per Florida laws and rules, OSHA, and CDC guidelines.
Completes time sheet, EARS and mandatory training in a timely and accurate manner.
Attends and participates in dental health staff meeting and other meetings as required.
Maintains complete records of all dental services.
Ensures that equipment and instruments are maintained
Schedules time off in advance and collaborates with supervisor to ensure work responsibilities are covered when absent.
Follows infection control guidelines.
Inspect operatories and surrounding areas for cleanliness.
Ensures security guidelines comply.
Assists supervisor in coordination, planning and monitoring of dental operations as assigned.
Performs other related work/duties as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of terminology, principles, and techniques of dentistry; knowledge of dental treatment techniques; skill in using dental instruments and equipment, ability to perform dental examinations and diagnose dental problems; ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Knowledge of basic dental procedures and policies Skill in conducting x-rays, oral examinations, and evaluations. Skill in providing restorative dental care; skill in providing extractions and other related oral surgical procedures. Ability to treat oral diseases, injuries, infections, and malformations. Ability to work with a diverse population and other employees in a small group setting. Ability to provide dental care to children in a community health setting. Knowledge of infection control practices, including Florida laws and rules, OSHA, and CDC guidelines.

Minimum:
Licensed as a Dentist in accordance with Florida Statue 466
Currently certified in CPR
Preferred:
One year or more experience providing dental treatment to children.
Currently credentialed as a Medicaid provider.
Current DEA license.
